GSS Event Fund

The GSS Event Fund aims to make Affiliate Organizations (AO) a vital part of the Society by supporting them in creating and organizing events that will be of social, cultural or academic interest to their fellow graduate students, with an emphasis on events held at the Graduate Student Centre and on interdisciplinary events.

The fund is a rebate of expenses for events organized and held by AOs.

How to Apply

Note: To fill out the forms electronically, please download the files, open with Adobe Acrobat Reader, and print as a PDF to save the completed forms.

Before Your Event

Event Fund Application Form

Submit completed form no later than four (4) weeks before your event to vpstudents@gss.ubc.ca.

After Your Event

Event Report Form

Drop off a copy of your report and original receipts to the GSS Office within thirty (30) days of your event



  • The maximum amount of funding is not guaranteed for every event and the amount approved will be influenced by a number of factors (e.g. attendance, event type, event location, and the number of departments involved in event organization).
  • The final decision on funding rests with the VP Students and the FEOO.
