The Graduate Student Society – UBC Vancouver (GSS) is recruiting enthusiastic graduate students as volunteers to help inform other UBC students of the upcoming provincial election in BC and collect pledges to vote through our Count On Our Vote campaign between now and April 2017. Let’s get your vote counted and get other students to vote too!

The next BC Elections is scheduled for May 9, 2017. Pre-election voter registration is open until April 11, 2017. Information on where and how to vote can be found at Elections BC.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attend the Volunteer Info Session: March 9, 4–6 pm, GSS Loft (Rm. 4202 @ AMS Student Nest)
  • ‘Tabling’ at various locations on- and off- campus twice weekly
  • Disseminate information on the Count On Our Vote campaign to UBC graduate students
  • Engage and encourage graduate students to pledge to vote
  • Educate UBC graduate students on the provincial electoral process and platforms of
  • the political parties
  • Report to and work closely with the Count On Our Vote Campaign Coordinator
  • Other duties as required

Hours/Commitment

  • Provide at least two shifts of ‘tabling’ per week
