Hello UBC graduate students!

First off, I would like to let you know that myself, our GSS VP Academic and External Colùm Connolly and fellow senator Natalie Marshall will be meeting with the Senate Teaching and Learning Committee on March 19th to discuss graduate student learning. I would like to know from you – how can UBC improve graduate student learning? Feel free to contact me with your thoughts on any issues such as career development, course requirements, and student-supervisor relationships at senator@ubc.gss.ca.

I would also like to encourage everyone to check out the Intersectional Gender Based Violence and Aboriginal Stereotypes Task Force report on the UBC VP Students website (vpstudents.ubc.ca). They are seeking feedback on recommendations to improve safety across the campus.

Lastly, here is your update from our January 2014 meeting:
• New graduate courses in Sociology, Physical Therapy, and School of Population and Public Health
• Senate approved several new awards for graduate students – be on the look out for them!

I hope to hear from you!
