Call for Volunteers: GradStart 2023
Do you remember the fun and excitement which came with arriving at UBC during your first days as a graduate student? Well, if you would like to experience that again, you can help out new students by volunteering during this year’s new graduate student Orientation (August 31, September 1, September 5, and September 9).
Volunteering will only take a few hours of your time and we guarantee you will have an awesome day meeting and greeting your new fellow graduate students.
Volunteer opportunities range from welcoming students arriving in the Chan and helping with catering set/up or take down to helping set up or take down tables for the outdoor fair and mingling with attendees. Volunteers will receive a Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (G+PS) and Graduate Student Society (GSS) t-shirt to wear at the event. You also need to attend a training session on Wednesday, August 30 (light snacks and coffee are provided).
If you are interested in applying to volunteer for this year’s orientation, please fill out the survey below.
You must be a current graduate student at UBC and in your 2nd year or later to apply. Positions are limited.
