Climate Strike
On September 27th, the GSS joined students of UBC, along with the rest of Vancouver, in the Global Climate Strike movement by walking out of their classrooms and work places, to demand action and attention towards climate.
We, as the Graduate Student Society, aim to be a part of this movement along with the rest of the University, to draw attention and show power to this crucial environmental, social and economic crisis, not only affecting us directly, but destroying the future of our coming generations. We invite graduate students from across campus to join us in protest to demand urgent and decisive action leading up to the Federal Elections. We also call upon all political parties to make climate justice the forefront of their agenda and commit to making Canada a leader in international climate policies.
The GSS also endorses the open letter sent to UBC, calling on the University to take a leadership role in climate policy.
