GSS EDI Workshop

This three‑part EDI workshop builds a common language around equity, unpacks the impact of microaggressions, and clarifies how UBC’s Human Rights Team can help.

Time: 4:00-7:00pm PDT

Location: Thea's Lounge (Online option available)

This workshop will cover three main topics:

1. Shared EDI Language – Define key equity, diversity, and inclusion terms used across UBC and the Equity & Inclusion Office.
2. Microaggressions in Practice – Examine how everyday slights contribute to discrimination and practice constructive ways to address them.
3. Human Rights Support – Learn about the Human Rights Team, learn what “Protected Grounds” cover, and understand when and how to seek help for a rights violation.

Leave with clear concepts, practical strategies, and knowledge of campus resources to foster a more inclusive community.
