GSS Lunch and Learn: Sleep Hygiene
February 3, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm PSTFree
Are you getting a good nights sleep? Our most recent GSS survey shows that many grad students dont. In fact the average grad student sleeps barely more than six hours a night.
One of the keys to getting a better night’s sleep can be improving your sleep hygiene.Sleep hygiene covers the variety of different routines and habits that encourage good quality sleep. This can be diet, exercise, relaxing bedtime routines, and even having a healthy sleeping environment
In this lunch and learn session we will discuss what makes for good sleep hygiene and what parts of our lifestyles make getting a good night’s sleep challenging. We’ll hear from a UBC research team looking at how using smart devices affect restfulness and from one of UBC’s registered nurses about developing good sleep habits.
