GSS Thrive: The Great Disconnect Screening & Grad Peer Round Table
November 30, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 8:00 pm PSTFree
We will be offering screenings of the famous documentary “The Great Disconnect“. This timely documentary invites us to reflect on the relationships we have with those around us and raises the question: is it possible to overcome our modern culture of disconnectedness and rediscover how truly essential we are to one other?
The film will be available to view at any time (for those who register) on November 30th from 7am – 11:59pm PST. For those who are available, we will be virtually gathering on the same day at 6:00 pm PST to watch the film together before the round table discussions that will be led by the Graduate Student Wellbeing Ambassadors (GSWA) at 7:00pm PST.
Overview of Schedule Nov 30th:
- 7am – 11:59pm: Documentary link opens for flexible viewing
- 6 – 7:00pm: Virtual Screening
- 7 – 7:30pm: Roundtable Discussion with Graduate Student Wellbeing Ambassadors (GSWA)
Join us for a 30-minute peer-led discussion with Graduate Student Wellbeing Ambassadors and other student leaders to unpack themes including social isolation, and how we can participate in fostering community as graduate students.
*Note: if you wish to watch the documentary as well as attend the round table, you will have to register for both separately. See ticket options.
