Research, travel and international scholarships include resources available for UBC students to undergo research travels or exchange programs within and outside of Canada.
The Canada-China Scholars’ Exchange Program gives short-term scholarships to Canadians who wish to pursue post-secondary academic study, research, or Chinese language training or a combination of these at participating Chinese institutions.
The Organization of American States (OAS) Academic Scholarships Program offers academic scholarships for study or research at the Master’s or PhD level that lead to a degree at a university or educational institution in an OAS Member State, except within Canada.
The Canada Graduate Scholarship Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplement provides support for high-caliber Canadian graduate students in building global linkage and international networks through the pursuit of exceptional research experiences at research institutions abroad.

The Graduate Student Travel and Research Dissemination Fund provides funding support of $500 per graduate student. This fund aims to assist graduate students in sharing their research with professional audiences.
The Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA) supports research collaborations between Canada and select partner organizations and eligible countries and regions. Award recipients receive $6,000 to conduct a 12- to 24-week research project in another country.
